Our area
Asprovalta, a large town of the Municipality of Volvi, is located in the northeastern part of the prefecture of Thessaloniki and on the western coast of the Strymonikos Gulf. It is one of the most remarkable summer and seaside tourist resorts in Macedonia.
Asprovalta is accessible via the Egnatia Highway (E90) and is located just 40 minutes from the city of Thessaloniki. Its coast is awarded the Blue Flag every year.

Beautiful beaches, green slopes, archaeological sites, church treasures are some of the things you can see and enjoy in Asprovalta.
Its beach is more than 10 km long, sandy and in some places more than 50 meters wide. It is mostly covered with organized beaches filled with umbrellas, beach chairs, children's games as well as water sports. There are also unorganized spots that are ideal for those who want peace and quiet on their holidays.
Along the beach, there is a wide and beautifully landscaped pedestrian walkway with trees, flowers, fountains, parks for the little ones, taverns and cafes. The promenade is about 4 km long, with two pedestrian streets. Asprovalta is a quiet resort ideal for families with children, but also for young people because it offers a rich nightlife and entertainment with many entertainment spots.

From Asprovalta you can arrange an excursion to the famous Alistrati Cave (45km away). One of the most famous archaeological sites in Greece, Philippi, is only 65km away. Also, if you spend your summer holidays in Asprovalta, don't miss a tour of Stagira, the birthplace of Aristotle, where you can visit the theme park, the place where Aristotle's house was. The park is located on a hill and offers a wonderful view of Ierissos and Mount Athos. You can also visit Kavala as well as Drama.
Finally, the famous nunnery of Lydia is located in Asprovalta. It is an imposing building overlooking the endless blue. The Brotherhood of the monastery is known for its humanitarian work, while one of the largest humanitarian organizations in Greece is based within the monastery.
